Using Reshade with PUBG: It’s legal! Installation, Download & Settings
Reshade is a postprocessing tool that expands the graphic settings of PC games with DirectX support. It can be used to detect opponents in the Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds environment more easily or earlier by means of some configurations. But is that allowed? We have done some research for you and now want to take a closer look at the topic in this article.
Legal or illegal? Is it allowed to use Reshade in PUBG?

The most important question in advance: Is the use of Reshade in Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds for better detection of opponents allowed? After all, the use of the tool could easily be interpreted as cheating and is a controversial issue among many players. For PUBG in particular, we can reassure you: On his Twitter channel, the developer Playerunknown has answered to a question on this topic:
Whether it’s okay for you to gain an advantage in this way, is, of course, still up to you to decide for yourself. Anyway, there is no need to fear a ban.
Using Reshade Download and perfect settings for PUBG
First of all, you have to download Reshade. To do so, you navigate to https://reshade.me/ and download the software by clicking on «Download». Then install the tool in your PUBG folder. You don’t know where to find it? Just right-click on PUBG in your Steam library, then click on Properties and in «Local files» click on «Search local files…».
During installation, select «Direct3D 10+». In the next step Reshade asks you which postprocessing modules you want to install. For the purpose of detecting enemies more easily, the following shaders have come in handy:
This will brighten up and sharpen the game a little, so that you should be able to detect your opponents much faster. In the game now use Shift+F2 to open the Reshade console, create a new profile and activate the shader. You will also need to set a hotkey in «Effects Toggle Key» to enable and disable the profile in the game.
If the Technicolor2 shader is too bright for you, you can set the power of this effect to 0.500 to diminish it a little.
