The basic equipment is of course a gaming computer and it should be designed in such a way that the latest games can be played without any problems. Of course, the costs for case, hard disk, optical drives and if necessary assembly by the retailer are added. The table should only serve as an example for a system which, according to the current state of the art, is suitable for the latest games and therefore only lists the components relevant for performance. Optimizing these components would make sense (e. g. by purchasing a better graphics card).

In addition to these performance-relevant components of your gamer gear, there are two other good options for optimization. On the one hand, these would be the use of an SSD for your operating system and on the other hand the overclocking of the processor.

SSDs use semiconductor memory similar to those in USB sticks instead of conventional mechanical magnetic disks. As a result, they are much more robust and faster. However, since they are up to ten times more expensive than conventional HDDs, they are mainly used for the operating system. Games and data will continue to be stored on a classic hard drive. Overclocking the processor means that it is operated at a higher clock rate (measured in GHz) than the factory setting. Naturally, this requires more cooling. In addition, not all mainboards or processors offer overclocking as an option. For example, Intel processor models almost always have a fixed clock rate. AMD, on the other hand, offers overclocking as standard.

In the past, it used to be quite dangerous if you didn’t pay attention during overclocking, but nowadays the internal security systems of the processors usually prevent major damage, should you ever make a mistake. A gaming mouse offers several advantages over a conventional mouse. It is equipped with many additional keys, which relieves the hand on the keyboard when gaming.
