What's a Twitch Cam Overlay or YouTube Webcam Overlay?
H2: What’s a Twitch Cam Overlay or YouTube Webcam Overlay? (with screenshot)
Most streamers or YouTubers stream with a so-called facecam. This means that the streamer films himself/herself during the game with a webcam or digital SLR camera and transmits this video signal directly to his/her stream. Therefore the viewer sees the events in the game and in front of the PC / camera. Without a matching design, however, this so-called facecam can appear a little “bumpy” in the stream. A matching Facecam Overlay adds the video signal of the camera in a matching design (to the game or to the channel).
You will notice that almost all of the top streamers on Twitch use a facecam frame. Here are a few examples:
Facecam Overlays are usually graphics (.JPG, .PNG) or animations (.GIF, .WEBM) which are added via streaming softwares such as OBS (Open Broadcaster Software), Streamlabs OBS or XSplit. Our graphics are made for all streaming platforms like Twitch, YouTube, Mixer, Facebook, Huya and many others.
How do I add a Cam Overlay (to OBS) to the stream?
- First create an image source in the desired scene and select your Webcam Overlay
- If not already done, add your webcam
- By sorting your sources, make sure that the image of your webcam is behind your Webcam Overlay
- Then adjust the size and format of your webcam to avoid empty spaces or overlaps.
