Everyday tips for Gamers and Streamers
Content
Everyday life as a gamer can be quite exhausting and challenging. Not only are there people in our circle of friends and family, who judge us for what we do, we also have to deal with noobs, flamers and tea-baggers and we don’t even get any applause for not going crazy, while having to deal with them. So here are a few tips to make everyday life as a gamer a little easier.

Your Personal Gaming Schedule Time management is the key
Sometimes, it’s hard to find time for gaming. Our job keeps us busy, our girlfriend or boyfriend needs attention or maybe we have to do some cleaning. That’s why a time consuming hobby like ours, is often left behind. So what do we do, when real life once again keeps us trapped in its cruel, though very realistically rendered claws? The magic word is time management!
We plan so many daily appointments in our lives, why should we do this differently in gaming? One to two hours a day can always be squeezed in, preferably in the evening hours. This has several advantages: Firstly, we know that we can’t have any other appointments there. Secondly, we create a regular schedule for ourselves and maybe the people living in the same apartment. Thirdly, all the twelve year old kids are already in bed in the evening hours and can’t screw up our game. If there are regular evening commitments (such as watching movies with your partner), the schedule has to be adjusted accordingly. All that matters is, that it exists.
Gamer-Food Healthy food for gamers

It’s a well-known stereotype, that gamers only live of pizza and red bull and if we’re honest, everyone of us has experienced times when that happened. Especially in situations where other people can understand our way of life,(because they live with us) this is not advisable in the long run, particularly looking at the health consequences. It is therefore important to make sure that you eat a healthy and balanced diet. In our article Gamer-Food: What to eat as a gamer? we have taken a closer look at this topic for you.
The ideal gamer apartment Feng Shui for Gamers

No, you don’t have to move immediately after reading this article. But there are still some tricks to be taken into account when arranging rooms and furnishings, to create the perfect living space for gamers and, above all, streamers.
Keep escape routes clear Short distances to the bathroom and kitchen
At some point in his life, every gamer had a moment like this: You’ve just cornered the boss or your opponent’s team, as nature calls for you. In order to solve this situation satisfactorily for all parties, your rooms should meet certain minimum standards.
- Short distances to the bathroom and kitchen
- No obstacles or sharp edges on these paths
- Carpets instead of smooth floors to prevent slipping
Of course, these are just suggestions and you don’t have to follow them, but when you cool the painful bruises, you will remember them. Safety first!
The right angle Adjustment of the apartment according to sun, moon and stars
Don’t worry, again you don’t have to move, even if the headline suggests so. The point here is that your home, and especially your game hardware, is positioned that way that in the morning and evening hours no annoying sunlight dazzles your eyes and blinds you, while your opponents attack. Of course, this can also be done by installing window shades.
Jobs for Gamers Choose your Proffession

As with the apartment, it is not necessary to redesign the entire life of a gamer. However, if you are about to choose a career or if you are involuntarily “available to the job market”, the following points could help you find your dream job.
close distance Less time lost, due to driving times
Ideally, your workplace should be in the area around your home, so that you will lose as little time as possible due to travel times. The best thing here is of course the home office, where you just have to start the game after work, but it’s also tempting to just play at the “workplace”, which could have a counterproductive effect on your future career. Depending on your discipline, it is still an option, of course, but in case of doubt you should find a good compromise between your money worries and your inner couch potato.
The right working hours Cooldown time after a gaming session
It is also important for gamers that their working hours do not interfere with their daily gaming routine. For example, if you show up at work at 5 a. m. after a gaming session on Monday morning, you will not do yourself or your employer any favors.
Of course, you should adapt your job to your own habits. If you are often gaming in the morning hours, a job with late shifts will probably suit you more than a job where you have to start early.
Good salary Gaming is an expensive hobby
Of course, gaming is an expensive hobby, and in addition to your wallet, there may be a life partner who has something against exorbitant spendings on hardware and software. For this reason, a well-paid job is of course essential. This can usually only be achieved with education, e. g. in the IT industry. Perhaps even as a game developer?
Suitable jobs would be, for example, software developers, media designers or a job in the marketing department of a large company. However, occupations with poor working hours or extreme overtime, would not be as good. Branches and companies with international connections, in which a great willingness to travel is required, are not very suitable. Examples include investment bankers, travel agents, or cooks, truck driver or pilots due to working hours. There is usually not enough free time to satisfy your hunger for gaming.
The mix makes the difference Find the Balance

You have implemented all the tips? There you go. A last word of advice: Gaming is a nice and often time consuming hobby, but you shouldn’t let it rule your whole life. This may seem contradictory at first glance, because that is exactly what we did with the suggestions in this article. But the exact opposite should be the goal: By putting the above points into practice, you should not only have more time and fun playing, but also more free time for other areas of your life. Also go outside and take care of your real life contacts. However, we’ve already kept you from gaming for too long, so let’s go play!
