A Twitch alert or Twitch notification (these terms can be used synonymously) consists of multiple elements. First, the visual component, usually a graphic of some kind, but sometimes this can also contain an animation.
A text is usually displayed above or next to the graphic or animation, which specifies the current event in more detail: the name of the viewer who executed the action as well as a text describing the action, be it a follow, a donation, a raid or something else. The streamer can fully customize these messages. They can stick with a default message of pure information (like “OWN3D followed the channel”) to any sort of creative alternatives. With the help of variables, it is also possible to retrieve the amount donated or the duration of the subscription in months and also display it as part of the text.
